Hey friends-
It's been awhile since I've updated you on my new album. First of all my apologies to those of you who pre-ordered "Chasing of the Wind" off of my website a year ago! I still have a list of all your names and addresses, and you will definitely get first dibs on the new album plus cool merch! So do not fear, I have not forgotten you!!
So I am taking this summer to re-record my entire album--a lot songs that were recorded last year in Nashville! I've been taking courses and doing lot's of preparation in order for me to record, and produce myself! I'm really excited at this opportunity and challenge. The new album title is still up in the air. This whole process has been a lot of learning, and growing. In the meantime of just waiting, I found myself writing some pretty cool tunes. I will be editing this album down to my favorites! So some of the songs you see me perform may not be on this album! I am looking at a fall release date--hoping for september! I am going to try and make video blogs during the whole recording process to keep you all involved and updated, plus I think it's cool when artists I like show me how their songs were recorded! Like Imogen Heap!
As far as this summer 2010 goes, I will be touring Michigan a bit! Make sure to check out my calendar and add any dates that are in your area! I am playing with a talented bassist, James Hughes, and Devina Williams on cello. Their addition really communicates the true emotion and vision of my music. I'm really excited for these live shows coming up! I hope to see you all there!!
Lastly, I need your help once again! I am entered in a contest to play at Lilith Fair. For those of you who don't know what Lilith is, it's an amazing music festival founded by Sarah McLachlan. This festival features an all women line up! Most of my inspirations, and favorite artists are playing Lilith! Needless to say this would be an amazing opportunity and a dream come true! The date I'm competing for is July 21! BUT, I need YOU to VOTE for ME! All throughout May! In order to vote for me you need to log onto ourstage.com and create a username! Then you will need to vote for my song "I Love You," when it comes up in the judging! Voting starts May 1st, and ends May 30th! Your goal is to get me into the top 20 each round, then their panel judges will pick the one they like the best! Thanks so much, and if you want you can pass this along to your friends!
